Marshal Luther Colson, aged 33, tragically lost his life on November 16, 1914, while serving as a City Marshal in Burbank, California. On that fateful evening, Colson was on foot patrol near the railroad tracks in the area known as the "Y," a quarter mile north of town. As he walked, he was ambushed and shot by assailants hiding in the Willows. The attack was sudden and brutal, leaving Colson with fatal injuries.
