Wyslert Fraise, a 36-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on December 17, 2019, in North Lauderdale, Florida. The incident occurred early in the morning at approximately 6:47 a.m. when Broward Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a call about a shooting at 7701 SW 10th Court. Upon arrival, they found Wyslert Fraise and another male victim inside a vehicle, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
Wyslert Fraise was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second victim was transported to Broward Health North with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation into Wyslert Fraise's death revealed that he was a father of two adult daughters and was on his way to work after dropping off a friend when the shooting occurred. Family members believe that both men were unintended targets of the shooting. The vehicle in which they were found had at least one bullet hole in the rear passenger door, indicating a targeted attack. Jessica Toney, Fraise's sister-in-law, voiced the family's pain, stating, "Just to know that somebody killed your brother, your son, your dad, and they don’t know who did it, that’s the hurtful part".
