Thang Nguyen, a 62-year-old Vietnamese-American man, was tragically killed on March 21, 2016, in Boca Raton, Florida. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning at NE 28th Street and NE 2nd Avenue. Nguyen, who was known by his friends as 'Wild Thang,' was involved in a confrontation that led to his untimely death. According to reports, Nguyen and his roommate, David Bartolino, 44, were attacked by a group of men.
Bartolino, who had been living with Nguyen, was assaulted by three men while walking along NE 2nd Avenue. He then sought help from Nguyen, who armed himself and went outside to confront the attackers.
During the confrontation, both Nguyen and one of the attackers, identified as Dylan Cirillo, 24, were armed. Shots were fired, resulting in Nguyen being fatally wounded. Bartolino was also injured but survived the incident. Nguyen was taken to Delray Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The police investigation revealed that Nguyen had attempted to defend Bartolino, who was being attacked, and in the process, was shot by Cirillo.
