Raymond Warner, a 54-year-old Deputy Sheriff with the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, tragically lost his life on June 13, 1996, in Merritt Island, Florida. On that fateful night, Deputy Warner and another deputy responded to a burglary alarm at Merritt Island High School around 12:15 am. Upon entering the school's office, Deputy Warner was ambushed by the suspect, who had been hiding under a table in a back office.
