Scott Winters, a 28-year-old officer with the Pompano Beach Police Department, tragically lost his life on July 29, 1990. On that fateful evening, Officer Winters and his K-9 partner, Baron, were involved in a search operation for a suspect linked to the brutal rape and beating of a young woman in Pompano Beach.
