In the late afternoon of June 5, 2022, the life of 17-year-old Rutravious Loftin, a Black male, was tragically cut short by gun violence in Columbus, Georgia. The shooting occurred just before 3:30 p.m. at a gas station located in the 5700 block of Buena Vista Road. When Columbus police officers arrived at the scene, they found the teenager with fatal injuries. The Muscogee County Coroner's office later identified the victim as Rutravious Loftin.
