In the spring of 2021, a burst of violence in a northwest Atlanta neighborhood claimed the life of 41-year-old Jocobe Gilbert. On the afternoon of Friday, April 23rd, police responded to a call at the intersection of North and Ruth streets. There, they discovered Gilbert lying in the road, having been shot multiple times.
