Demetrius Daniels, a 26-year-old African American male, was fatally shot on the evening of April 11, 2021, in Columbus, Georgia. He was sitting on a porch in the 4600 block of Reese Road with another man, Rodney Daniels, to whom he was not related, when a black Nissan Altima drove by. An occupant of the vehicle opened fire, discharging approximately 17 rounds. Demetrius Daniels was struck by the gunfire and was later pronounced dead at a local emergency room.
