In the early hours of September 1, 2012, the life of 22-year-old Darrien Jackson, an African-American male, was tragically cut short on the streets of East Baltimore. Just before 2 a.m., police responded to a call for a shooting in the 1300 block of Lakewood Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered Jackson suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
