In the late evening hours of August 13, 2017, the life of Stanley Smylie, a 35-year-old African American man from Riverdale, Georgia, was tragically cut short. His body was discovered behind the wheel of his car, which was still running, in the 2000 block of Knight Court in College Park, a community in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Mr. Smylie had sustained an apparent gunshot wound.
