In the summer of 2017, the life of 25-year-old Willie Neal Phillips came to a violent and tragic end on the streets of Swainsboro, Georgia. On the evening of Friday, August 4th, the sound of gunfire shattered the peace near the intersection of New Street and Flanders Street, prompting a 911 call to the Swainsboro Police Department. When officers arrived around 7:30 p.m., they discovered a grim scene. Phillips was found lying in the roadway, having lost a substantial amount of blood.
