Demetrius Merrill, a 22-year-old Black male, was killed in Atlanta on September 2, 2015, after what began as a gathering at the Envoy at Northside apartments turned violent. Police were called to the apartment complex just after midnight and found him with gunshot wounds inside an apartment.
