In the summer of 2015, a young man's life was abruptly cut short in Decatur, Georgia. Demarco Franklin, a 21-year-old Black male, was walking from an Exxon gas station on Holcombe Road near Redan Road on the night of July 1st. It was around 10 p.m. when another man, who was also on foot, approached him. Without a known motive, the stranger fired a gun, striking Franklin twice before fleeing the scene.
