In the summer of 2022, the life of 19-year-old DeJaun S. Nelson, a male, was cut short in a burst of gun violence on June 22nd in New Orleans, Louisiana. Remembered as a musician, producer, and entrepreneur, Nelson was a young man with a promising future. He was not alone when he died; alongside him was 36-year-old Antonio Thomas, who also lost his life in the same tragic incident.
