Nicholas Toms, a 23-year-old man from Shreveport, was drawn into what was supposed to be a late-day meetup over firearms, arranged through messages and set to happen at a home on Lindholm Street in Caddo Parish. As the evening of January 19, 2021 settled in, the meeting turned volatile. Police responding to the 3000 block of Lindholm Street found Toms and another man, Jacob Decamp, suffering from gunshot wounds so severe they were rushed to Ochsner LSU Health for emergency care.
