In the late summer of 2018, the city of New Orleans was the scene of a grim discovery that left a community searching for answers. On August 30th, police were called to a residence in the 2400 block of Feliciana Street, where they found the bodies of two men inside. One of the victims was identified as Cedric Burgess, a 41-year-old Black male. The other man was 60-year-old Ray Certain. The initial investigation pointed to a violent altercation that had claimed both of their lives.
