In the late afternoon of December 29, 2017, a transaction that was supposed to be a sale of firearms turned deadly in the parking lot of the Prestige Beauty Salon on Plank Road in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The incident resulted in the death of 32-year-old Karl Moore Jr., a male resident of the city. What began as a prearranged meeting for the exchange of guns quickly devolved into an armed robbery, leaving Moore with a fatal gunshot wound to his abdomen.
