In the early morning hours of May 5, 2016, a scene of violence shattered the quiet of the Cherokee Park neighborhood in Shreveport, Louisiana, leaving two men dead, including 37-year-old Elton Wayne Madison. An African American male, Madison was inside a local tire shop with a group of other men, engaged in a late-night card game after business hours. The seemingly relaxed atmosphere was abruptly and brutally interrupted when three to four masked individuals stormed into the establishment.
