In the warm evening of June 18, 2015, a burst of violence shattered the life of Phillip Noel Thornabar, a 25-year-old Black/African American man, in the 7th Ward of New Orleans, Louisiana. He was discovered inside a vehicle, having been fatally wounded by gunfire. Emergency services responded to the scene, but Thornabar succumbed to his injuries. The New Orleans Police Department initiated an investigation into the shooting, piecing together the events that led to the young man's untimely death.
