On the evening of Friday, September 7, 2012, a native of New Orleans, Cedric Maurice Brown, became a victim of fatal gun violence at the age of 22. An African-American male, Brown was a father to one child and had spent his entire life in the city, where he attended O. Perry Walker High School.
