Lori, who was a dedicated Respiratory Therapist Assistant at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest and an active member of Bethlehem Christian Church, was known for her caring nature and strong faith.
The suspect in the shooting, identified as Nicolas Jaimes-Hernandez, was Lori's neighbor.
He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and other charges were pending. The incident occurred early in the morning, and responding officers shot Jaimes-Hernandez after he began firing at them. The Texas Rangers were called in to assist with the investigation.
