On August 21, 2021, Corey Demon Mack, a 20-year-old male from Frisco, Texas, was tragically shot and killed at an apartment in the Silverado Apartment Complex located at 8400 Stonebrook Parkway. Mack was at the apartment with friends when 26-year-old Justin Jamaul Broadnax and 19-year-old Hannah Michelle Bond arrived at different times. A verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation, during which Broadnax fired a gun, striking Mack.
After the shooting, Broadnax and Bond fled the scene.
The Frisco Police Department responded to the incident and found Mack, who was then transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. Detectives worked diligently to confirm details of the incident and positively identify Broadnax and Bond. Warrants were issued for their arrest, and both suspects were apprehended on August 24, 2021, in cooperation with federal, state, and local law enforcement. Broadnax and Bond were charged with first-degree murder and held in lieu of a $500,000 bond at the Fort Bend County Jail.
Chief David Shilson praised the quick investigative work of the Frisco Police Department and the assistance of state, local, and federal law enforcement partners in identifying and arresting the suspects. The investigation remains active and ongoing, with the Frisco Police Department continuing to seek any additional information regarding the incident.
