Thalamus Livings Jr., a 23-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on January 23, 2021, in Orange, Texas. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, around 2:30 a.m., when officers responded to a reported shooting at a residence on Coronado Place. Upon arrival, they found Livings and his girlfriend, 18-year-old Aaliyah Gradnigo, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
Livings was pronounced dead at the scene, while Gradnigo was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The investigation into the double homicide led to the arrest of 24-year-old Manka Melson, who was charged with capital murder for the deaths of Livings and Gradnigo.
