On February 18, 2020, 17-year-old Tristan Jones, a Black male, was shot multiple times in front of a home on Mira Colina in Channelview, Texas. Despite efforts by a deputy to stop the bleeding using field tourniquets, Tristan was pronounced dead at the hospital. His girlfriend, Tyvesha Holloway, mentioned that she had spoken to him hours before the shooting, and he had told her he was with two friends on the way to see her.
