On November 4, 2019, Jose Jesus Moncivais, a 42-year-old man from Dayton, Texas, was tragically shot and killed at his residence on County Road 685 in south Liberty County. The incident occurred following a domestic altercation. Moncivais' stepson, Fabian Makell Miranda, who is 22 years old, claimed that he shot Moncivais in self-defense as Moncivais was allegedly beating his mother.
