On March 14, 2016, Staff Sergeant Brian Michael Reed, a 40-year-old Caucasian male, was discovered unresponsive in his off-post residence in Copperas Cove, Texas. Upon arrival, authorities found that he had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. Initial reports from the Copperas Cove Police Department indicated no immediate signs of foul play, leading to the presumption of a self-inflicted injury. An autopsy was ordered to determine the exact cause of death.
