Kristian Gutierrez, 41, male, Hispanic, was found shot shortly after dawn on June 16, 2025, on the 3600 block of Placentia Lane in Colton, not far from the AB Brown Sports Complex. Officers responding around 5 a.m. discovered him with gunshot wounds, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by Colton Fire Department personnel. He was identified as a San Bernardino resident.
Detectives with the Colton Police Department took over the investigation and, in the days that followed, identified 54-year-old Anthony Anguiano of Riverside as the suspect. A Ramey arrest warrant was obtained, and on June 25, 2025, with assistance from the Riverside Police Department, officers located Anguiano in the 2700 block of 5th Street in Riverside and took him into custody without incident. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center on a murder charge and held without bail.
Community memorial pages later noted Gutierrez’s death to gun violence on the date of the shooting, and public records indicate he was male and of Hispanic race. Authorities asked anyone with information to contact Colton police investigators as the case moved forward.
