In the early morning hours of May 7, 2024, the life of Brandon 'Tayy Dior' Thomas, a 17-year-old Black transgender female, was tragically cut short in Mobile, Alabama. Around 3:30 a.m., police responded to reports of gunfire and discovered Thomas's body in the front yard of a home on Darwood Drive. Her vehicle had crashed into the residence, a grim testament to the violence that had just unfolded. Investigators determined she had been shot multiple times as she attempted to flee her attacker.
