In the quiet evening of June 4, 2021, the life of 63-year-old Elijah McKissic, a Black/African American male known affectionately as 'Peewee,' was tragically cut short in Phenix City, Alabama. At approximately 10:50 p.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the peace in the 2000 block of 14th Street. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered McKissic suffering from a gunshot wound.
