In the winter of 2017, the life of 25-year-old Marion Earl Awudu was tragically cut short in a burst of violence. On the evening of February 12th, Awudu was the victim of a drive-by shooting on Hail Street in the Alabama Village area of Prichard, a city in Mobile County, Alabama. The fatal shots were fired in a neighborhood already scarred by loss, where memorials for two other recent deaths stood as somber reminders of the community's struggles with violence.
