Deondrick Anderson, a 49-year-old man from the Bradenton area, was involved in a fatal incident that did not occur on July 10, 2024, as might be inferred, but rather was a consequence of events that unfolded later.
On July 11, 2024, an argument broke out between Deondrick Anderson and 27-year-old Jordan Glanz in the parking lot of the Oneco Rose Bar on Cortez Road West in Manatee County. The altercation followed a vehicle accident in the same parking lot.
During the argument, Anderson was shot in the torso by Glanz, who then fled the scene. Anderson was taken to a local hospital, where he was initially reported to be in stable condition.
However, Deondrick Anderson's condition apparently deteriorated, as he passed away on July 21, 2024. Following his death, a visitation was scheduled to be held from 10 AM to 12 Noon on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Westside Funeral Home in Palmetto, Florida. Additionally, a time of remembrance was planned for 1 PM to 8 PM at the Palmetto Boys and Girls Club.
Jordan Glanz, the suspect in the shooting, had contacted the Manatee County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) claiming he shot Anderson in self-defense. After investigating the incident and reviewing evidence, MCSO arrested Glanz for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. The case highlights the tragic outcome of a dispute that escalated into violence.
