On July 8, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred in the Overlook at Lake Griffin neighborhood in Leesburg, Florida. The victim, 20-year-old James Jordan, was found lying in the front yard of a home in the 2200 block of Aitkin Loop around 2:30 p.m..
Jordan had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Leesburg Police Department launched an investigation into the shooting.
During the course of their inquiry, they identified, located, and seized the vehicle involved in the crime. A search warrant was obtained, and evidence was recovered from the vehicle.
On August 30, 2024, an 18-year-old man named Ondrique D. Mosely was arrested in connection with the shooting. Mosely, a resident of Lady Lake, was charged with premeditated homicide. He remains in custody without bond.
The police continue to seek any additional information related to the shooting and have encouraged anyone with knowledge to contact the Leesburg Police Department or Crimeline to be eligible for a reward.
