On April 3, 2024, Latoya "Tee" Arnold, also known as Lagend Billions, a 36-year-old transgender man, was fatally shot at The Village at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida. The incident occurred near Strike 10 Bowling around 1:30 a.m. when shots were fired, and Arnold was rushed to Aventura Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Despite medical efforts, he died from his injuries four days later on April 7, 2024.
Arnold was described by friends and family as a very loyal, loving, and caring person who was a hard worker and enjoyed living his best life. He was known for being the life of the party and took pride in his work as a security guard. Friends mentioned that the shooting might have been due to a previous altercation or misunderstanding, but the exact motive remains unclear.
The Hallandale Beach police have identified a suspect in the case: Brianna Jameelah Purcell, a 29-year-old convicted felon. Purcell was already incarcerated at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade County on unrelated robbery charges. Authorities believe that Purcell had a prior altercation with Arnold, and multiple people were involved in the incident. The police do not believe the shooting was motivated by Arnold's gender and consider it an isolated incident.
Purcell is expected to be extradited to Broward County, where she will face a murder charge without bond. However, the police are still searching for additional suspects and urge anyone with information to contact Broward Crime Stoppers.
The community and friends of Arnold are grieving and seeking answers, emphasizing the need for more information to solve the case. A $5,000 reward is being offered by Broward County Crimestoppers for any information leading to an arrest.
