Ignatius Miorana, a 22-year-old Black man, was shot on the evening of June 5, 2023, in the Michoud area of New Orleans East. Police said the gunfire erupted around 7:47 p.m. in the 13000 block of Sevres Street, a residential stretch near the wetlands and industrial edges of the city, where the sound of sirens can carry a long way after dark.
