In the early evening of August 16, 2024, Carroll Edward Wonson, a 56-year-old Black male, was in the 600 block of Springfield Avenue in Baltimore, Maryland, with his two minor grandchildren. At approximately 6:21 p.m., the outing turned to tragedy when Wonson was shot multiple times in the upper body and head.
