In the summer of 2024, Brandon Tucker, a 43-year-old man from Baltimore, Maryland, was fatally shot. The incident occurred on the evening of July 14, when police responded to a report of a shooting on the 1700 block of North Carey Street around 10:40 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found Tucker with a gunshot wound to his head. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and succumbed to his injuries four days later, on July 18.
