In the pre-dawn hours of April 30, 2023, the quiet of a District Heights, Maryland neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire. When police responded to the 7800 block of Berry Place at approximately 3:45 a.m., they discovered a man lying outside with a gunshot wound. The man, identified as 33-year-old Brian Ray Campbell of Hyattsville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit is handling the investigation into Campbell's death.
