In the Westport neighborhood of Southwest Baltimore, a tragedy unfolded on a Saturday night, forever altering the lives of a local family. On April 15, 2023, 12-year-old Jaylen Richards was shot multiple times and killed. The young male was in the 2400 block of Maisel Court just before 9 p.m. when the sound of gunfire shattered the evening calm. The weapon used in the attack was described as an assault-style rifle.
