In the early evening of a late February day in Baltimore, Maryland, the sounds of city life were pierced by gunfire. On February 26, 2023, in the 500 block of Edgewood Avenue, a violent encounter left 29-year-old Dion Blackwell with fatal injuries. Responding to a call at approximately 6:32 p.m., Baltimore Police Department officers discovered Blackwell suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper torso.
