In the late hours of a Friday night in Pittsburgh's Station Square, a burst of violence cut short the life of David Anthony Utley-Ralph. The 25-year-old Hispanic man was outside the Hard Rock Cafe on West Station Square Drive around 11:20 p.m. on March 1, 2024, when he was struck by gunfire. First responders arrived to find him with gunshot wounds to his pelvis. Initially, Utley-Ralph was conscious and alert as officers worked to save him, even applying a tourniquet to control the bleeding.
