On June 17, 2023, during a Juneteenth celebration at NTC Park in Liberty Station, San Diego, 20-year-old Jonathan Robert Shields-Pullum was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m., prompting attendees to flee the area. Officers arrived to find Shields-Pullum with a gunshot wound to his upper body; he was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. A second victim, also 20, sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg and was treated at a local hospital. ...
