In the early morning hours of December 1, 2024, the life of 31-year-old Montrell Smith, a Black male from Baltimore, Maryland, was tragically cut short. The incident began to unfold at approximately 3:28 a.m. when Baltimore Police were dispatched to the 2200 block of North Monroe Street following a ShotSpotter alert, indicating that gunfire had occurred in the area.
