In the summer of 2019, a particularly violent weekend in Baltimore claimed the life of 24-year-old Markel Jackson. On the afternoon of July 27th, police were summoned to the 1700 block of McHenry Street in response to a ShotSpotter alert. There they discovered Jackson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services transported Markel Jackson to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal. He was one of six individuals killed in Baltimore during that weekend.
