An elder in her community, Maggie was a familiar sight to those who knew her, and her sudden absence left a void that has been felt for decades. There is some uncertainty surrounding the exact date she was last seen; some accounts state it was July 3rd, while others record it as July 30th of that year. What is known is that she disappeared without a trace, leaving her family and community with unanswered questions that linger to this day. Maggie was known for her habit of taking walks in the bush area that surrounded the community of Pinehouse. It was a part of her routine, a connection to the land that was an integral part of her life. When she did not return from one of these walks, concern mounted, and searches were initiated to find her.
