Cornelia Adrienne McIntosh, a 62-year-old woman from Hawthorne, CA, was found dead on November 13, 2015, in the 15800 block of Greenrock Avenue in Lancaster. According to the Los Angeles County coroner records, McIntosh had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her head and body. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:47 p.m. Investigators believe McIntosh was the first of four victims shot by John Revels, a 64-year-old man from Lancaster.
Revels was found dead in his car on the side of the 15 Freeway just north of Barstow in San Bernardino County, having shot himself in the head as California Highway Patrol officers approached him.
The investigation revealed that Revels had a violent spree, starting with the shooting of Kevin L. Martin and his cousin in Hawthorne, which resulted in Martin's death. Revels then proceeded to his brother's home in Exposition Park, where he shot his brother, Paul Revels. McIntosh was found in the hallway of the home she shared with John Revels. The authorities discovered a note left by Revels, which did not provide a clear motive for the shootings but simply stated, "I'm sorry and I leave everything to my son."
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department conducted a thorough investigation into the series of shootings. Despite the tragic events, no further suspects were identified, and the case was closed following Revels' death.
