On December 2, 2018, Jarrod Bozeman, a 24-year-old resident of Boynton Beach, Florida, was fatally shot at the Advenir at La Costa apartment complex. The Boynton Beach Police Department responded to the scene after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Bozeman with a gunshot wound to his hip.
