Anthony Harris, a 29-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on February 18, 2017, in Boynton Beach, Florida. The incident occurred late at night in the 1600 block of Northeast Fourth Court. Harris was shot twice in the head, and another man, Jeffrey Whigham, 45, was also injured in the shooting, sustaining a gunshot wound to his arm.
The shooting took place outside a residence, and Harris was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation quickly led to the arrest of Shedrick Lamont Moss, a 35-year-old male from Boynton Beach. Moss faced charges of first-degree murder and attempted robbery in connection with the death of Anthony Harris. According to police reports, Moss and another unidentified man arrived at Harris's home on the night of the shooting. The two men had reportedly been involved in an argument with Harris earlier that day. Moss and his accomplice returned to the residence with the intent to kill Harris. During the altercation, Moss's accomplice allegedly fired the fatal shots that killed Harris.
Three independent tipsters came forward to the police, identifying Moss and the other man as the perpetrators. One of the tipsters specifically mentioned that the other man fired the deadly shots. Moss initially denied any involvement in the shooting but later confessed to his role in the crime. He revealed to the detectives that the gun used in the killing was hidden at his grandmother's house. The police subsequently found the handgun wrapped in a shirt inside a cinderblock at the location Moss indicated.
During a court hearing, a judge denied Moss bond on both charges of first-degree murder and attempted robbery. Moss was ordered to have no contact with the victim's family and was prohibited from possessing any weapons if released from jail. The investigation into the incident remains open, with authorities continuing to seek information about the second suspect involved in the shooting.
