James Ponce Priest, a 39-year-old man, was killed in a northwest Baltimore shooting in mid-December 2014. Late in the afternoon on Tuesday, December 16, patrol officers were called to investigate a report of gunfire. At the scene, police found a male victim who had been shot in the head, and medics rushed him to a hospital as detectives began treating the case as a potential homicide because of the severity of his injuries.
