Deputy Sheriff George Lasonro Bryant, aged 48, tragically lost his life on December 3, 1908, in Gainesville, Florida. He was serving as a deputy sheriff for the Alachua County Sheriff's Office at the time of his death. The incident occurred while Deputy Bryant was attempting to arrest a man for drunk and disorderly conduct in High Springs.
