In the spring of 2015, a family's life was forever altered by a senseless act of violence. Markeal Johnson, a 20-year-old male, was found shot to death in the staircase of the Deerfield Garden Apartment Complex on Campbellton Road in southwest Atlanta. The discovery was made by police who were responding to a call in the area. The young man had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and several shell casings were recovered at the scene, indicating that numerous shots had been fired.
